Good account of the entire Chattanooga campaign, from the moment the
Confederates arrived outside the city, through the siege and on to the
series of battles which saw Grant break the siege and force the
Confederates back onto the defensive. Gives a clear picture of the
contrast between the lethargy and dysfunctional command structure on the
Confederate side and the energy levels injected into the battle by
Grant and his trusted subordinates
