Brown Bess

Brown Bess

Today we have an article on the 'Brown Bess' musket, the main British infantry weapon for over a century, tracing the development of the musket from the Dog Lock Musket in use during the Seven Years War, through to the India Pattern Short Land Musket that was the standard weapon by the end of the Napoleonic Wars.

If you think about it, The Brown Bess is the most important firearm in human history "ak 47 maybe a close 2nd"
No fire arm took as much land ,defeated as many enemies , and was used for so long .It literally changed the world.
Were talking from the 1720s TO THE LATE 1850S "but with a percussion conversion."
