Airway to the East 1918-1920 and the collapse of No.1 Aerial Route RAF, Clive Semple.
An account of the disastrous failure of the RAF's first attempt to
move large numbers of aircraft over a long distance by air, in this
case from France to Egypt in 1919. Eight men were killed and many of
the aircraft were lost before the attempt was abandoned, but it did
provide some invaluable experience in the long-distance movement of
military aircraft.
