Henry  Beaufort, third duke of Somerset  (1436-1464)
 was a major Lancastrian military leader during the first phase of  the 
Wars of the Roses. He considered the death of his father at the first  
battle of St. Albans as a murder that had to  be avenged, and despite 
the best efforts of Edward IV to win him over died  fighting for Henry 
VI.
