Looks at John Brown's failed raid on the US Armoury at Harper's Ferry,
in which an attempt to steal weapons and start a widespread slave
uprising collapsed into a short-lived and rather one sided siege.
Despite the small scale of this raid, it had massive political
implications and played a part in the slide into Civil War.
