Marshal Michel Ney, duc d'Elchingen, prince de la Moscowa (1769-1815)
Marshal Michel Ney, duc d'Elchingen, prince de la Moscowa (1769-1815)
was famous as the bravest of Napoleon's marshals, and was a master of
the rearguard action. He was said to have been the last French soldier
to leave Russia in 1812, and was a high quality corps commander, if not
quite so able when given an independent command.
